This is very interesting to me. The energy of this new part of who I am in business is feeling very back-to-basics. Very “Ma and Pa.” I have been seeing for some time the vision of the New World (as we move into the famed “2012″ energy) as being very much low to Earth, community-oriented – very “small village-y.”

And I have for some time been feeling what “business” now feels like and is moving towards. And I am so happy about it! For we are moving into a time when “doing what we love” is no longer a luxury or a distant day-dream. Doing what we love – with the gifts of our soul – from our very hearts – is what business IS. Now when I say “Let’s get down to business,” I experience a shiver of excitement and a warming of the soul that a few years ago I didn’t even know was possible!

We do come here for a reason, with a purpose – and we are finally getting it. We are finally getting that the true purpose is to be happy. We have learned that struggling is not “It.” We are not meant to work very hard for very little, exhausted to the bone, weary and frustrated at the end of each day.

WE GOT IT. We are picking ourselves up from that strange and dark part of the journey, dusting ourselves off, looking around, and seeing the world almost as if for the first time. Colors seem brighter. The air is more communicative. There is energy coursing everywhere and bouncing with excitement as it watches us feeling it – watches us come closer. (I just had an image of Flubber! HA!)

Working from the heart. Doing what we love. It is new. It is change. And we know the only thing that does not change is the fact that everything is changing!

Some of us need help adjusting to this new life of doing what we love. Adjusting to the change. Opening, welcoming the love that is this very exciting energy – it has really always been here, waiting for us – it is Love that is so excited to see us all coming! Love is the energy that is bouncing excitedly, watching us watch it – Love is here, ready for us as we approach like small children, our hearts opening and expanding with Joy.

I have done this in several capacities, in many of my shamanic coaching and counseling sessions – that is, I have many times already coached folks shamanically in their heart-centered small businesses, and in their abundance, prosperity, joy and love.

As opening up to what we love is becoming (hallelujah!) the “norm,” I am moved to grow a Whole Branch from my Tree for just this purpose:

Today I had many tasks to complete before being able to sit down and do my writing. I am happy to be sharing with you now. Wait…first let me grab my cup of espresso….

…Got it. Also walked the dogs somewhere in there!

Now I have stowed myself up and away to my dreamcave in the sky, aka current nook for Ascended Hawk Shamanic Center – popped an old Smithereens cassette in my boom box and I am ready to get down to business!

Alright. That old saying: “Those who can’t, teach.” Poop on that. The origin of the phrase is a bit mysterious, and frankly I don’t care where it comes from – but a falser word could not be spoken (or written, or thought).

Teachers are great gifts. Sure, we could all be self-taught about everything we know and will ever learn – but that would be a looooooong and lonely road – for a huge part of the treasured teacher/student experience is the exchange of energy – not just intellect!

Some of my favorite people in the world, for instance, have been my English teachers. Quirky? Assuredly! Corny? Likely! But passionate! And the more excited they were, the more interested I was – waaaay back when, when I thought being scholarly was my main path. (Tee hee!)

And of course, there have been my healing teachers! And let’s not forget about my music teachers! And oh, my art teachers! And what about my dance teachers! And my precious beloved mime teachers! And the beat goes on….

This may not be national “Teacher’s Day” – but I am decreeing it Universal Astra Spider Hawk’s “I Love Teachers Day.”

And what I have seen, and what I KNOW, is that if my teachers hadn’t held expertise in what they taught, and been able to “do” their subject damn well, there is no way I would have learned so much from them – and no way they would have been as passionate about what they were teaching. I love them all.

Now here’s a question for you:

What subject do you hold expertise in? This would be something you do very well, enjoy being immersed in, have a great passion for – in short, something you LOVE TO DO.

Are you quite adept at baking, for instance? Perhaps vegan baking, or maybe you specialize in chocolate goods (we know the real reason – you love to lick the spoon!). Maybe you have always greatly enjoyed making beaded jewelry – and it is beautiful stuff! All your friends and relations ooo and ahh yearly over your wearable works of art at holiday functions.

Maybe you have honed your Internet skills and are an amazing online marketer for your own business, or for your current place of employment.

Maybe over time you have spent so many waking hours in your garden you know all of the ins-and-outs of growing your own ginormous squash and eggplants to a T.

There ARE things – most likely MANY things – that you are a total expert at! And this being the case (yes, you probably know where I am going with this!) – you can take that expertise, and use it to TEACH YOUR OWN CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS!

Now, why would you want to teach?

A) You can make money doing it. And who doesn’t want more income coming in? After all, money is simply love energy that supports us in creating the lives we desire!

B) There are people out there starved for the knowledge you have to offer. Again, they can spend a whole lot of time teaching it to themselves from books and articles and experience, etc…but you have already done that! Taking your class would help to create community and faster growth for your waiting students – and you might make some great new friends based on your shared interests!

C) Teaching our favorite subjects helps us to learn even more about them, and become more grounded and confident in our own expertise.

The old paradigm of “big business” is slowly falling away; we are coming to a simpler, yet fascinating time of the old Ma & Pa community-oriented lifestyle coupled with the exciting huge world of technology – so teaching online is a wonderful way to start. 

Where else could you teach? Community centers, libraries, and adult education programs at local high schools come to mind. Your living room is another possibility, depending on how large (or cozy) you want to make your attendee-capacity.

Where there are people, there are places to teach…and students to fills the seats!

So…IF YOU CAN, TEACH! Teaching is sharing and connecting, and helps the growth and expansion of community and our life here in this, our beautiful New World.

Space, the final frontier.
 
But seriously – what would we do without it?
 
Space is the energy that gives us room to do anything and everything. Space is the opposite of a black hole or vacuum where everything gets sucked in without being given a chance to stake its claim and make its statement.
 
So! Respecting Space feels astoundingly important!
 
This is referring to all space. Outer space, interior space (as in physical buildings, houses, rooms), and inner space (as in our individual energy fields – our “within”).
 
Have you checked in with your Space today? Does it feel dusty, smoky, cluttered or congested?
 
Or is it clear, calm, flowing and free?
 
If your space (outer, interior and inner – it is all related) is NOT clear, calm, flowing and free, how do you intend to address this? Without these soothing and open qualities to Space, function is pretty much rendered DYS-functional.
 
So take a moment, take a breather, and check in – and be honest – what can you let go of?

Are you ready
this new energy
is You

Each time I come up to my beloved studio it appears to have shapeshifted. Today it is a cabin, a bit lonely, in the middle of the woods with no other human around for miles.

I know the room has become this because I need to be up here, gathering my thoughts and energies back into myself after being loudly reminded of humanity all weekend long – with the boom and the bang of fireworks, and the rocket’s red glare, et cetera. My little almost-three-year old Boston Terrier was glued to my side, nervous from the noise – and what an honor it was to be able to give her comfort and reciprocate her gift of total non-judgmental love.

So what did I learn from Independence Day? I learned that it is okay to need someone there, someone to love, be close to and sometimes receive comfort and nurturing from. Not so independent, but very human, and even more deeply, very animal in nature. For me, independence goes hand in hand with needing people and animals around me. We are all here to help boost each other from time to time, and in years past I had a tendency to forget that – to feel like I was supposed to “do it all myself.”

What a lie. I am now honest – I need people – I need animals – I need friends. I need love. And, in return, I LOVE.

Having processed this information and written this post, I look around my studio – which has shapeshifted again. It is now a small temple. A sanctuary – the energy rests lightly, peaceful, resolved. I know that, even here, I am not alone.

I smile as I look across the room to my dear friend, Silver the Egyptian Uromastyx lizard, who keeps getting too big for his britches, and so sheds the old skin to reveal the new, slightly bigger version of himself – shapeshifting surely and slowly into the small dinosaur he will become over time. But he remains my baby, my dear heart, and my love – as he and I walk the path of our transformation together, loving each other no matter what skin we are in.

For me, these changes are welcome as I move even deeper into Who I Am. Earlier this year, my beautiful coaching practice, Joy Through Purpose Coaching, took root and started to grow. And it continues to bloom! It is one of my callings to help people connect with their purpose and live their fulfilled and Joy-filled lives as they become who they truly are in this lifetime.

What I love most about my practices as they morph and change is that, not only am I helping others, but at the same time all I learn can be applied to my own life – by helping others I help myself, 100% of the time! This is true for any of us in service-oriented fields.

So through the process of creating and becoming grounded in Joy Through Purpose Coaching (www.joythroughpurposecoaching.com), I have become even more connected with my own purpose, and grown even more into who I truly am! And I am grateful, blessed and amused that who I truly am is a shaman.

Many of you are scratching your heads and going: “Duh, Astra! Don’t you think we knew that? Didn’t YOU know that?” Hee hee!

Yes, we all knew it – but there is something so rich about it now – I think it is that I am even more accepting of myself. Even more loving with myself – and I am now allowing who I truly am to be a huge support for me. Re-awakening to my own shamanism feels like coming home to a big cushy chair where, when I sink down into it, I go: “Ahhhhhhhh….” and there is no place on Earth I would rather be.

I am my own cushy chair! And it is my job to help you be your own cushy chair as well! Let’s get comfy with who we are. Let’s love ourselves. Let’s allow ourselves to fill with Joy.

Standing still sizzling in summer city’s central heat – Stick a fork in it – are you done?

Things come to a halt as you are forced to take a seat and sit and think – melt down stalactites that drip from your ceilings and brows – by force of merely sitting we accomplish all we need – centering – simmering – cooking slowly, splitting open, letting in light

Deeply seated in the seat of our souls are seeds of our sole commitments – to self, to nature, community – what we are here to accomplish – the nature of our nature as we sit and blend with nature

A rose comes and sorts our senses as we scent the scent and surrender to our sense of wonder

Chilling in the heat, willing in the heart to receive, open, breathe, bloom

As a shaman, I am guided daily by my spirit guides, in life and in business.

My guides are never wrong – so I gratefully follow their guidance and continually learn, expand and am amazed by the path that is forged as I walk!

I have been doing some internal work about my newest practice, Joy Through Purpose Coaching, and why this is the practice I have been guided to at this time.

I have had several “AHA” moments; some more subtle, and some huge!

One of the hugest is the answer I received about why it is so important now to connect with our purpose – our true Jobs – in other words, why we are here in this lifetime.

The reason this is now of utmost importance is in alignment with what the world is becoming. Earth has always been a school, as our souls continually learn and grow and expand and return each lifetime that much richer in knowledge and experience.

In fact, we have expanded so much that we are now vibrating quite quickly – and in energetic terms this is a very good thing! And, we have learned almost everything we have come here to learn!

In fact, School is almost over (Woo Hoo!!), and those who are going to graduate will be carving out what the New Earth will actually be!

I am so excited I have goosebumps. So…what happens after “graduation”? Well, some take a year off to travel abroad – ha ha – but the final “destination” when school is done is – simply put - your Job.

I will say this, money is changing, and the energy of business is changing to become more heart-centered, less cutthroat, and without all the drama, worry, anxiety and shame energy that these things used to carry in the “old world.”

The Truth is, money is love. Love is gold. All is energy. And there is nothing wrong with any of it…and everything right with all of it!

We have been preparing, and we are now ready to step into our birthright – Joy, Love, Abundance - and connecting with our purpose, our true Jobs – this is how we step into the big three!

That is Joy, Love, Abundance. Together, these three form the energy of the New World.

And our jobs are now to connect with our Jobs – if you know what I mean!

Connecting with your purpose means that you become a beacon to show others the way to do the same, and one by one – and together – we create the highest vibration on Earth – which is in alignment with what Earth is becoming – a beacon for the Universe! A beacon of Joy, Love, Abundance.

When we connect with our purpose, we can live our Joy….

Now that’s something to celebrate!

I was very thankful for the reminder. I know that taking this action will take me out of my mind and mental chatter, ground me, and allow love to pour through me as I open up as a channel for Universal energy balancing for our gorgeous home. The very planet supporting me as I sit and type this post.

I am so thankful for Raphael and my other guides for keeping me in check and not letting me get bogged down in unhelpful clutter that can clog my head.

I am so thankful to myself for allowing myself to be a channel for Divine Wisdom and Universal Love.

I am so grateful that I have a Job that balances the physical with the spiritual, the energetic and all things inter-dimensional, and that I am able to experience life in this whole and holistic manner.
